In a band as professionals, you should be able to read each other's mind when it comes to music. People have a variety of gifts and if you find the right musicians with musical talent, then they will be able to understand what you're playing and how everything should fit together. It's not easy, and it requires a lot of practice, but once you understand the music and get it right, it will transcend reality. You'll be in the zone or what is known as theta wave meditation and that can apply to other artistice endeavors and skills as well.
